The Shetland Film Archive teamed up with Shetland Arts at Bonhoga Gallery to present 'Postcards from the Past' - a journey through bygone Shetland in a series of short archive films. These included: the repainting of the south light on Fair Isle, croft work on Papa Stour, the building of the bridge to Tronda and a boat trip around Scalloway harbour with views of the castle and seafront.
The programme featured films from the 1960s to the 1980s, and was intended to get people thinking about travel from a time (rather than distance) perspective, whilst we were confined to our island home during one of the many Covid-19 lockdowns. We also hoped it would remind people of our beautiful island landscapes in the cold months of winter, and encourage people to get out and about in the summer months.
